How to turn aluminum ash into aluminum ingots?
I believe this is a question many people want to answer.
The traditional aluminum smelting industry has long been at a loss when dealing with aluminum ash, a waste byproduct of production. Manufacturers have to pay a high cost to have it disposed of by others.
If there is a way to turn aluminum ash into aluminum ingots, it will be an excellent solution. We will no longer worry about aluminum ash disposal, and it can also bring considerable economic benefits.
Let’s do the math first(How much profit can we make from producing one ton of aluminum ingots?):
Based on the above calculation, the net profit from producing one ton of aluminum ingots is 4000 US dollars.
What kind of equipment can turn aluminum ash into aluminum dross?
Turning aluminum ash into aluminum ingots requires the combined operation of multiple sets of equipment. The general process is as follows:

Process Description of Turning Aluminum Ash into Aluminum Ingots
- Ball Mill: The aluminum ash is first coarsely ground by a ball mill, mainly to remove other impurities contained in the ash. In some processes, the aluminum ash is first calcined in a dryer before entering the ball mill. This step is primarily intended to eliminate chemical substances in the aluminum ash and meet the requirements of environmentally friendly production.
- The function of the trommel screen is to separate large aluminum particles from aluminum ash powder, so as to reduce the workload of the subsequent Raymond mill and improve its working efficiency. The Raymond mill shall be equipped with a slag discharge device.
- Raymond mill: Carry out secondary grinding on the aluminum ash powder to 100–200 mesh. The ground aluminum ash powder is easier for subsequent calcination.
- An electric heating kiln is mainly used for calcining aluminum ash powder. After calcination, aluminum is separated from the ash. Aluminum flows out in a molten state, while the ash remains inside the calcining furnace.
- The main function of the cooling furnace is to cool the high-temperature aluminum dross (most of the aluminum has been separated) for subsequent production processes.
- The cooled aluminum dross, from which most aluminum has been separated, can be further processed by other equipment into water purification materials.
It is evident that no waste is generated throughout the entire production line process, and all waste materials are fully utilized.
Payback Period of Aluminum Ash to Aluminum Ingot Project
Judging from our aluminum ash-to-aluminum ingot project invested in Thailand, the total investment is 12 million RMB, with a monthly net profit of 4 million RMB. The cost is expected to be recovered in 3 months.
